They will zero in on a teacher’s soft spots like heat-seeking missiles."

Taking all of the terror that has fallen on our soil, in our mail boxes and news headlines it's enough to give us pause ... While we bolt the doors on planes, cleanse the post offices and search every corner of the congress for weaponized Anthrax, most of us stare at the reports on the TV screen with glazed over eyes.
What do we look for in our culture that needs rethinking? What do our leaders need to do to insure domestic tranquillity? So shocked have we been to see such evil come to us like never before. We have seen the look on the faces of our leaders moving forward with resolve and determination yet at the same time bewildered at answering questions of the press and searching for words, just words that calm.
So new to American's and our freedom, perhaps too free, we searched and looked inside of ourselves, and to our dismay we didn't have to search too far for answers.
We have taken our freedom so far to the extreme that we have become intoxicated with it. As adults we have given new meaning to the word, adult. Establishing in our culture too much sex, too much violence, too much of the drugs, just too much ... we now find ourselves teaching our children about these things. This exacerbates and only adds to the dilemma as we have seen with our own eyes, the sexual things that children are doing, at younger and more innocent ages. How they have taken out their anger and loneliness in the most violent act of all, murder.
American's are soul searching turning around from where they were before September 11th 2001. It is a paradigm we are in and the things that are changing in the face of all this evil, is to a place we abandoned for too long. The simple things in life, the ideals that live in a Norman Rockwell painting to this day ... Faith in God, family and country.
Billy Grahm at the end of his telecast always reminds us "Don't forget to go to church on Sunday." To this we concur. But in our changed world to this we must add, a church of your choosing yes, but a church not caught up in the world of being politically correct, and not in the world American's are seeking to abandon.

Are we American's?
For too long we suffered under a government school system that taught them nothing about their country and its government. Didn't tell this younger generation why people want to leave their own lands of nationality to come to America. Why would a Muslim want to come to America ... For the same reason the pilgrims got on those scary ships in those days, Religious Freedom.
But today we now see the danger in the Hyphen-American. The meaning of hyphen:a punctuation mark - used esp. to divide or to compound, Webster. The man or woman who sees that which is before America.
There is the most recent story of the Islamic-American whose mother survived the bombing of the Towers in New York City ... He is blind to being a citizen of the United States and has no problem leaving for the war in Afghanistan to kill American's. A traitor.
Another young Islamic-American told us that he is Islamic-American not American-Islamic therefore he believes he sees clearly the distinction who comes first. Oh how we have caused trouble in our own country by telling our own that yes you can speak freely here but how about telling them who gives them safe harbor to do so and to honor and treasure this place.
The hyphen has caused a division in our people and it has spawned hatred in our diverse nation. The meaning of diverse: differing from one another: UNLIKE, says Webster. Differing from one another ... Different, but we are all American's. After all our government is a government of argument, Webster again, argue: to give reasons for or against something: REASON. That is why there are three levels of government and yes it is called a presbyterian form of government, we call upon the dictionary, presbyterian: often not capitalized: characterized by a graded system of representative ecclesiastical bodies (as presbyteries) exercising legislative and judicial powers.
We are a country of many nations unique and unlike any other. Like our forefathers called themselves Americans not British-American's, like the immigrants of old called themselves American's and proud to be one ... And like this writers father who came here from Sicily was an American not an Italian-American, and sought to teach me the ideals and virtues in that familiar broken English, but how well I understood. I am an American! God bless America.

THE SUPREME COURT RULING IN SEPTEMBER 2000 CONCERNING PRAYER AT FOOTBALL GAMES IN TEXAS ... AT THEIR FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON AT ROANE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL, KINGSTON, TENNESSEE, THE PRINCIPAL JODY MCLOUD WITH GREAT COURAGE, SAID THIS:
"It has always been the custom at Roane County High School football games, to say a prayer and play the National Anthem, to honor God and Country.
Due to a recent ruling by the Supreme Court, I am told that saying a Prayer is a violation of Federal Case Law.
As I understand the law at this time, I can use this public facility to approve of sexual perversion and call it, "an alternate lifestyle," and if someone is offended, that's OK.
I can use it to condone sexual promiscuity, by dispensing condoms and calling it, "safe sex." If someone is offended, that's OK.
I can even use this public facility, to present the merits of killing an unborn baby, as a "viable means of birth control." If someone is offended, no problem.
I can designate a school day as, "Earth Day" and involve students in activities to worship religiously and praise the goddess, "Mother Earth," and call it "ecology."
I can use literature, videos and presentations in the classroom that depict people with strong, traditional Christian convictions as, "simple minded" and "ignorant" and call it, "enlightenment."
However, if anyone uses this facility to honor God, and to ask Him to bless this event with safety and good sportsmanship, then Federal Case Law is violated.
This appears to be inconsistent at best, and at worst, diabolical. Apparently, we are to be tolerant of everything and anyone, except God and His Commandments.
Nevertheless, as a school principal, I frequently ask staff and students to abide by rules with which they do not necessarily agree. For me to do otherwise would be inconsistent at best, and at worst, hypocritical. I suffer from that affliction enough unintentionally. I certainly do not need to add an intentional transgression.
For this reason, I shall "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's," and refrain from praying at this time.
However, if you feel inspired to honor, praise and thank God, and ask Him, in the name of Jesus, to bless this event, please feel free to do so. As far as I know, that's not against the law----yet."
3000 PEOPLE IN THE STANDS APPLAUDED ... STUDENTS ON THE FIELD BEGAN TO PRAY. THE FOLKS THAT OWNED THE FIELD NEXT TO THE STADIUM SET UP A GENERATOR, SPEAKERS AND A MIKE SO THAT THE TRADITION WOULD CONTINUE.
SOUNDS LIKE A MOVIE. BUT THEY DON'T MAKE MOVIES LIKE THIS.
IN THE ATMOSPHERE AFTER THE BOMBING OF THE WORLD TRADE CENTER PRAYER SEEMS TO BE MORE OPEN, ACCEPTED, LESS INTIMIDATING ... BUT ONE YEAR AGO LIFE WAS DIFFERENT, VERY DIFFERENT ... WHAT JODY MCLOUD DID WAS FROM THE HEART AND LOVE FOR HIS COUNTRY. AND IT WAS A PROFILE IN COURAGE.
